Incorporation of four authentic short films to better develop the thematic units: Unidad I: “Minería contaminante a cielo abierto en Colombia”; Unidad II: “Un juego absurdo”; Unidad III: “Zepo”; Unidad IV: “Perú, Nebraska”
Two vocabulary sections introduce each lesson. “Palabra por palabra” highlights frequently used Spanish words that appear in the reading. “Mejor dicho” examines false cognates and other problem words. Sequentially placed, these sections facilitate vocabulary acquisition and practice before students begin the actual reading.
Found before every reading selection, the “¡Alto!” section of ¡A QUE SÍ! features techniques for improving reading skills, taps previous background knowledge, and at times examines specific grammatical items.
“Estrategias comunicativas” contains colloquial words and phrases. The goal of this section is to help students express themselves in everyday situations, such as asking for opinions and directions, agreeing and disagreeing, and expressing emotions such as surprise and gratitude.
