"Enhanced WebAssign is the perfect teaching tool for keeping students engaged in mathematics."
Willem Wallinga has been teaching secondary and college mathematics since 1998. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics from Clarkson University, as well as an M.S.T. degree in Secondary Mathematics from SUNY Potsdam. He is currently a candidate for a PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of New Hampshire.
In 2009, Mr. Wallinga became an Assistant Professor and Academic Administrator in Mathematics at Fisher College in Boston. In 2012, he promoted the adoption of digital textbooks and Enhanced WebAssign (EWA). Since then, EWA has become an established component for every mathematics course taught at Fisher College.
In 2016, Fisher College won a Digital Learning Innovation Award from the Online Learning Consortium. Mr. Wallinga led a team of instructors and administrators to design and implement a digital courseware program for students struggling to complete required mathematics courses. The program has since been expanded to address the needs of incoming students who place into developmental mathematics.
When he is not teaching, Mr. Wallinga enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. They love to travel, go to the beach, attend concerts and sporting events, and watch movies.
