Sherri Singer is the Department Head for Social & Behavioral Sciences at Alamance Community College where she teaches World Civilizations and American History using MindTap. She is also a consultant for the North Carolina Virtual Learning Community (NCVLC) developing both World History II and American History II online courses for the state community college system. Currently she is researching and writing two white papers for the NCVLC on online course layout and grading standardization in online courses.
At Alamance, Sherri coordinates The Adjunct Institute, a professional development program that uses her LMS to communicate with 500+ adjuncts and provide support. This year the program began an online certificate program for faculty who work off campus. These sessions provide a campus connection for adjuncts and encourage faculty to increase their use of technology.
Sherri has presented at the North Carolina Community College Conference, NISOD Webinars through Cengage and on college campuses. Popular sessions and presentations include, Making MindTap Meaningful in the Classroom, Interactive Ice Breakers, Technology Tidbits, Activities in a Bag, MindTap Munchies (a workshop on tips and tricks), What's in Your Backpack?, and SOS LMS: Using Your LMS as an Adjunct Connector.
