SAM is used as the core curriculum for all MS Office courses taught at EIT.
I am the Academic Dean at Pittsburgh Technical College for the Schools of Business, Criminal Justice, Hospitality and Culinary Arts. I became an educator after retiring from government service where I served with the Office of Inspector General as a special agent.
I have been a SAM adaptor since 2008. I was also an Early Adaptor of both Emerge for Computers and MindTap, piloting both platforms. My original interest in MindTap stemmed from a retention and underperformance challenge I was facing in a Medical Terminology course. It served as a digital solution for both issues and I have been an advocate of the product ever since. I continue to work with both the SAM and the MindTap development teams to provide feedback on planned enhancements to the platforms and am a member of both advisory boards. We are currently in the process of transitioning to a fully digital curriculum in order to maximize the digital products and the high level of student engagement they afford.
I received my BS in Industrial Psychology from Penn State University and my MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Business Administration from Taft University. When I am not teaching, you can usually find me out on Lake Erie as I am an avid kayaker, fisherman and scuba diver.
