Mary King — University of Texas Rio Grande Valley

"MindTap has allowed me to provide flexibility without sacrificing knowledge to my students."

Mary King is a faculty member in the Criminal Justice Department at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Her background includes residential counseling and case managerial experience in social services and she teaches a variety of courses including Criminology and Criminal Justice through the Media Lens.

Mary King uses MindTap in order to provide the opportunity for her working and head of household students to earn the education that they would not be able to without the flexibility of online learning. By integrating MindTap into the Blackboard learning platform, Mrs. King believes that students are able to be exposed to real-life parallels to theories and topics by the use of multimedia and interactive activities.

Mary King graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Minor in Anthropology. She earned her Master Degree in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Investigative Criminology from Seattle University.
