Bracha Silverstone is a full-time Mathematics Instructor at Wharton County Junior College in Texas. Prior to that, Bracha was a full-time Lecturer of Developmental Mathematics at Bergen Community College in New Jersey. Bracha received her education in New York, where she graduated from Hunter College City University of New York with both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Mathematics and Secondary Education. Upon graduation, she also became a licensed New York State Secondary Math Teacher for grades 7-12. After teaching high school math, Bracha discovered college teaching and has been in love ever since. She has taught a range of math courses at the developmental and college level.
Bracha has experience using different online digital tools in her courses. She was introduced to WebAssign when joining Wharton County Junior College and immediately decided to incorporate it as a mandatory component in her courses. WebAssign helps her run and manage her classes more effectively. Her students benefit from and appreciate the resources in WebAssign. Bracha believes that digital tools enhance learning in her courses and her students value the easy access to resources as well as immediate feedback on their work. Digital tools also allow for more student control in their learning and success. Since incorporating digital tools into her courses, she cannot imagine teaching a course any other way.
