Willem Wallinga
I have been teaching secondary and college mathematics since 1998. I received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics from Clarkson University, as well as an M.S.T. degree in Secondary Mathematics from SUNY Potsdam. I recently completed a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of New Hampshire.
In 2009, I became an Assistant Professor and Academic Administrator in Mathematics at Fisher College in Boston. In 2012, I promoted the adoption of digital textbooks and Enhanced WebAssign (EWA). Since then, WebAssign has become an established component for every mathematics course taught at Fisher College. In 2016, Fisher College won a Digital Learning Innovation Award from the Online Learning Consortium. I led a team of instructors and administrators to design and implement a digital courseware program for students struggling to complete required mathematics courses. The program has since been expanded to address the needs of incoming students who place into developmental mathematics.
In Fall 2022, I started teaching at Bentley University. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife and four children. We love to travel, go to the beach, attend concerts and sporting events, and watch movies.
