As an adjunct faculty member at Solano Community College in the Career/Technical Education division, I taught medical front office programs, records management, medical coding, and small business courses. My specialty with Cengage products is using The Paperless Medical Office Using Harris CareTracker, a live, electronic health record product (EHR) used across multiple health disciplines. The user works in a live electronic health record, gaining experience and proficiency students will need when they enter the health care workforce. Harris CareTracker is the only live/educational EHR in the marketplace, offering a real-world hands-on experience, second to none! Since this is a cloud-based EHR, the students need only the textbook, user access code, and Internet access.
In my role as a Faculty Partner, I train and support faculty in live webinars or on-campus set-up and demonstrations to help make the adoption a success for students and educators. I have also been a content developer for MindTap for health care products, incorporating and delivering the material in an organized and engaging approach.
Prior to joining Solano Community College, I served as the manager of extended services for John Muir Physician's Network in Walnut Creek, CA, where I converted the practice from paper to electronic health records.
I hold dual undergraduate degrees in sociology and family and consumer studies, a Master in Health Administration, and certification from the National Health Career Association as a Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRSÃƒÆ’Ã‚Â¯Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â¿Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â½).
