I’ve been an Adjunct Professor of Communication at Cape Cod Community College for nearly 30 years.  During that time, I’ve experienced firsthand the evolution of educational technology and its impact on the college classroom.  While I still teach primarily face-to-face, I realize to stay relevant and keep students engaged it’s imperative to incorporate digital technology and online learning platforms.  And, in my opinion, Cengage Learning does the best job of offering college-level instructors the tools they need to meaningfully integrate these technologies into their existing curriculum.

My subject matter expertise is in human communication.  In addition to teaching entry level Introduction to Human Communication, I’ve also taught upper level Interpersonal Communication. My “go-to” text is Adler’s Looking Out/Looking In.  Several years ago, as a Subject Matter Expert for Cengage Learning I had the opportunity to develop Looking Out/Looking In’s Mindtap Platform, as well as revising its student and instructor handbooks.  It was a thrill to be able to apply the real-world experience I’ve gained in the classroom to the virtual world of online learning!  

As a SME for Cengage, I also worked extensively on a number of digital public speaking projects, including designing and delivering a stand-alone public speaking course, development of the Outline Builder, and refinement of the Video Library – resources that I also actively use in my classrooms.
