
Regina Brown
Regina L. Brown is an expert in both accounting and financial empowerment. She has more than 30 years of professional experience in education, accounting, financial planning, and internal audit. Professor Brown has been an Accounting Professor with Dallas College since 2001, full-time since 2006. She periodically works as an independent accounting consultant.
She served as accounting faculty coordinator (Department Chair) from 2008 until 2020., that is until the college merger. She also served as the Dallas College Accounting Department curriculum chair from 2020 until 2022. Before joining Dallas College, she was a certified Business Teacher for North Mesquite High School in Mesquite, TX, and Nimitz High School in Irving, Texas. She has also taught at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee; Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas; and Paul Quinn College, Dallas. Brown, 2015’s Texas CPA’s Outstanding Educator, uses her passion, determination, education, and work experience to provide training and professional growth to students at Dallas College. She researches and develops forward-thinking and innovative instructional methods to engage and challenge students. She strives to expose them to real-world opportunities outside of the classroom.
Prior to the college’s merger, Brown regularly hosted financial literacy workshops in partnership with Resource One Credit Union. She continues to coordinate Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteer training and recruits’ volunteers in collaboration with the IRS and Dallas Community Tax Centers. Brown crafted the Accounting Career Symposium to connect students with local accounting professionals to help them learn more about accounting career opportunities.
Outside of Dallas College, Brown served on the high school Accounting Career Awareness Program Board of Directors and teaches summer workshops to its participants. Additionally, she strives to serve her community by educating and motivating others in accounting, financial literacy, self-empowerment, and career development. Brown self-published Level Up, a devotional vision planning journal, and the RLB Transformational Planner.
