Melissa Reid

 I’m the department chair of Mathematics at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. I have taught everything from developmental mathematics through Calculus. We were part of the RISE ReDesign and served as the Beta Pilot. Developmental and corequisite design has been front and center, and I'm passionate about finding ways to help our students be successful.
   
 All of our curriculum math courses utilize WebAssign. We not only use it for homework, but also quizzes and tests as well. In Summer 2021, we piloted embedding deep-links into our LMS for our online classes and it was a huge success!
   
I graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and minored in computer science and business. I also received my M.A. in Mathematics with a concentration in college teaching at Appalachian State University. 
   
I love technology and how it can support our students. As a faculty partner, I hope to help others increase other’s knowledge and confidence in WebAssign/Cengage as well as collaborate on new initiatives.
