Lana Jones
I am an instructor in the Department of Psychology at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and an adjunct for Palm Beach State College (PBSC), both located in sunny South Florida. I earned my Master's of Science in Experimental Psychology from FAU and my Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine.
My teaching career began in 2016 as an adjunct for PBSC with Introduction to Psychology. In 2018, I became a full-time instructor at FAU, where I currently teach a variety of Psychology courses: Experimental Design & Statistical Inferences, Human Development, Multicultural Psychology, Neurobio of Learning and Memory, and Biological Bases of Behavior. However, I have the most experience with the experimental design and stats course, teaching approximately 200-400 students in the online format.
I began using MindTap beginning at PBSC in the Introductory Psychology course. I greatly appreciate the flexibility and ease of LMS incorporation for this product. These learning products increase student engagement and interaction with course material. The students can apply the content in real-time with active learning assignments and stay motivated to continue with the course content. I also use MindTap and Aplia in my Expt Desing and Stats course. I adore the "do no harm" grading option, which gives students several attempts at a particular problem or concept, providing feedback for their effort without penalizing them for continuing to try and learn the correct procedure for statistics.
