Lakesha Kinnerson

I am an Assistant Professor for the undergraduate Health Informatics and Analytics program at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. I teach courses focused on health sciences, public health, health informatics and technologies, and quality improvement. I earned my Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My research focuses on health literacy, health equities, and consumer informatics.

Collaborating with colleagues and discussing how to increase student engagement and increase student performance outcomes and understanding is what I enjoy. Cengage digital online learning solutions continue to add innovative tools to established platforms that positively impact the student's digital and traditional learning environments.

"MindTap has helped me digitally engage students in a way that does not interrupt the traditional face-to-face lecture and increases student confidence in learning challenging content."
