Kayti Ledford
I am the Criminal Justice and BLET Program Coordinator at Mayland Community College. I've worked in the Emergency Services field for 18 years and went to school as an adult. I have five years of teaching experience at a community college level and one year experience at a University level. I am an alum of Mayland, graduating with A.A.S in Criminal Justice. I continued my education at Lees-McRae College with a B.A.A.S in Criminal Justice and at Liberty University, where I earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Public Administration.
I currently teach a wide assortment of criminal justice courses at multiple colleges. My courses are offered as online, face-to-face, and hybrid options. I discovered Cengage Unlimited in 2018 and have now integrated it into 14 of my 16 required criminal justice courses. MindTap has allowed my students to experience a more interactive learning experience with videos and current event topics. Cengage unlimited allow student to use technology that best helps them study as an individual. The ebooks options have be a cost effective option for my working students that do not get financial aid.
As a past adult learner, I wish Cengage and Mindtap would have been available to me as a student.
