Kathryn Moland
I have over 15 years of experience in project management and information technology. I serve as the Director of Computer Technologies at University of North Carolina, Charlotte teaching entirely online. I obtained my PhD in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University, my dissertation research focused on quality software development. I have my MS degree in Computer Science from Southern University and my thesis research focused on artificial intelligence. I am a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
I worked many years in corporate organizations to include IBM and Westinghouse as a development manager, project manager, and software developer/systems analyst. I’ve taught seated and online classes, which include C, C++, Cobol, database, Java, systems analysis and design, security, and project management classes to name a few. I continue to teach many of these same classes today; online.
I have a Quality Matters Online Teaching Certificate issued by Quality Matters. I have developed courses and integrated digital content into the LMS course. I primarily use MindTap and I see the benefits of MindTap in the success of the students I teach.
I enjoy golfing and serve on the board of A Perfect Swing Golf Association (APSGA) and the Chair of the APSGA Scholarship Committee.
