Katherine Bevins

I am a Senior Lecturer and the First Year Coordinator in French in the Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I teach first and second year French at UTK. I teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. I also have experience leading and teaching in study abroad programs. I have been teaching face-to-face and hybrid French courses for 7 years and online French courses for 4 years. In our program, we use Liaisons & iLrn in our Intermediate French courses and Horizons & MindTap in our Elementary French courses. In the past, I have used and am familiar with Blackboard and D2L, and I am currently using Canvas.

I have really enjoyed using MindTap in my Elementary French classes. I have noticed a big difference in the language ability of my students since we switched to MindTap. My students are coming to class better prepared and better able to use the language structures they are learning outside of class. The different activities located in each step of the learning path on MindTap are extremely beneficial in helping students not only learn French but feel confident in their ability to use the language.

I have a Master's degree in French literature from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) and am a PhD candidate in the Learning, Design, and Technology program at UTK.
