I am Department Chair for Communications and Fine Arts at Pearl River Community College's Forrest County Center in Hattiesburg, MS. I have taught English classes for PRCC since 1997 in face-to-face, and later in hybrid and online modalities.

I was one of PRCC's first teachers to embrace technology when I started teaching online courses in 2002. I have seen the multiple changes in online education since then, and enjoy seeing students learn more while enjoying it through courseware such as Mindtap and Aplia, which I use for both content delivery and assessment. As a department chair, I have seen the results both in terms of student outcomes and in faculty satisfaction. 

In 2013, I was named the Mississippi Humanities Council Teacher of the Year recipient for PRCC. I received my B.S. in Accounting from Spring Hill College, my M.A. in English from the University of Memphis, and am currently completing my Ph.D. dissertation in English at the University of Southern Mississippi.
