I am a full-time, full professor at Alma College, a private liberal arts school in MIchigan. I am known for delivering courses that are challenging and fun. I use engaged learning tools to help students apply concepts to their life and future work. I am known for engaged pedagogy and for creating a classroom environment where students want to attend.
I have been recognized at Alma College by receiving the Andison Excellence in Teaching Award, Posey Award for Teaching Excellence, and the Outstanding Faculty Award for Social Sciences. I have also twice received the Master Teacher Award from the Midwest Academy of Legal Studies.I love sharing my creative pedagogy with other faculty.
I currently teach Legal Environment of Business, Commercial Law, Advanced Business Law (graduate), Cybersecurity Law & Management, Business Foundations, and Contemporary Management. I regularly used MindTap and the Mobile App in all of my courses. Using MindTap helps the students feel confident in the material and more eager to engage in classroom discussions. It also produces better end of term grade results.
I have taught face-to-face and fully online (both synchronously and asynchronously). My research includes understanding learning styles of Generation Z students and engaged learning.
I received my BBA and MBA from Saginaw Valley State University and my JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. I also hold a Certificate in International Business, Professional Certificate in Leading Sustainable Innovation, and Certificate in Quality Online Learning. I am licensed to practice law in Michigan, District of Columbia, and before the U.S. Supreme Court. I am an Of Counsel Attorney with Twohey Maggini, PLC in Michigan.
