I have over 35 years of combined law enforcement and academic experience. Teaching both undergraduate and graduate-level courses in criminal justice, I serve as an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at New Mexico State University at Dona Ana, and previously served as N.M.S.U. Program Coordinator and an instructor for the U.S. Department of State, I.N.L. International Law Enforcement Academy at Roswell, New Mexico. I earned my M.S. degree from New Mexico State University and a B.S. degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York City. I retired in 2004 after a 23-year career in law enforcement in New York City and Westchester County, NY. My teaching curriculum includes courses in Policing, Criminal Investigations, Emergency Planning and Response, Staff Misconduct and Workplace Violence, Arson and Bomb Investigation, American Judiciary and Comparative Criminal Justice taught in London, England. My research interests are Workplace Violence, Multiculturalism in Law Enforcement, Hate Crimes and Bias Incidents.
I use MindTap in my Criminal Justice classes because it provides for easy and total engagement of my students, thus attaining comprehension of C.J. concepts. Additionally, the ability to assess each student's progress throughout the semester is easier.
