Cinda Catchings
I am Cinda J Catchings, M.S., M.P.H., RDN, LD and a faculty member in the Department of Human Sciences at Alcorn State University. I am the director and instructor for the Food, Nutrition, and Community Health Sciences (FNCHS) program. I specialize in the area of Nutrition and Community Health. I engage in community nutrition initiatives, with an interest in obesity and disease risks, health literacy, and behavior and lifestyle interventions. I am currently serving as Principal Investigator for two research projects both related to Nutrition Lifestyle Activity Behaviors (NLAB) one assessing college students and the other examining the effects of COVID-19 on NLAB and I am utilizing the MindTap Diet and Wellness Plus application. I love it!
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Licensed in Dietetics in the State of Mississippi and work to ensure my students are prepared for entry-level employment or graduate studies. Therefore, it is important for assignments to offer the variety provided through MindTap. It is important that my students not only understand the theoretical but being able to apply theories is essential. This is what I most enjoy about my Cengage MindTap products. More importantly, my students enjoy it as well.
Cengage is also good at updating their materials. This is important in the field of Nutrition which is ever-evolving, making it is critical to have course materials that are up to date. Needless to say, Cengage MindTap is always my first option. I have witnessed the evolutions of Cengage and appreciate and Love It!
