Billi Bromer
I am a Professor of Education in the College of Education at Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia, teaching adult learners online. My goal is to prepare future teachers to meet the multiple and diverse needs of young children and their families
Prior to becoming a teacher educator, I was a general early childhood educator for over two decades, teaching young children in a variety of private education settings as well as a federally funded programs for at risk children. I also served as an early childhood special educator in two school systems in Georgia, providing collaborative consultation to teachers in Head Start, Georgia’s PreK program, and other early education settings.
I have presented numerous papers at state, national, regional, and international educational conferences on a variety of topics related to child development and teacher education and, most recently, online teaching and learning. I have a special interest in the importance of social presence in online courses and have found that digital resources are the most important tool in encouraging the engagement of the instructor as well as students. I also enjoy sharing ideas and insights to help today's educators support learners. Here are a few blogs I’ve written for Today’s Learner.
