Beth Ryan
I am a Professor of Instruction for Columbia College Chicago in the Business and Entrepreneurship department. Our program prepares students with the business skills they need to succeed in the creative industries. I teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Management, Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Organizational Behavior.
As faculty, we are increasingly challenged to engage and retain a sometimes overly-distracted generation. Since our students are digital natives, I meet them where they are, with online tools. I have become a passionate user of digital technology in the classroom and I am always experimenting with ways to increase accessibility, helping students learn in a variety of ways, using multiple software modalities. I am happy to share my experience with other faculty and brainstorm innovative and active ways to engage students using in-class or digital tools.
