Ashley Berger
I am a Lecturer of Mathematics at the University of Oklahoma where I have been teaching since 2013. I earned my BS in mathematics from East Central University and then my MA and Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma. My research focuses on undergraduate mathematics education, where I am interested in how to improve student learning of abstract ideas and conceptual understanding. I became a faculty member at OU in 2018, where I have specialized in teaching and coordinating courses for First-Year Math students. I currently use WebAssign with an eBook in my Precalculus & Trigonometry courses and have also used WebAssign in other FYM courses.
I also served as our First-Year Math Instructional Technologies coordinator, where I am able to help other faculty with their instructional technologies, including WebAssign. I enjoy working with instructors and helping them get started with WebAssign and their eBook, including linking everything into their LMS. Having everything linked in the LMS makes the student experience much smoother than what it was ten years ago. My first day of class is more peaceful since we need less time to “get into” the digital materials and we can focus more on getting to know each other and setting up class expectations.
