Global Perspective: Campaigns and elections are expensive everywhere, but there are many different approaches to funding politics in the world. Some nations fully fund their campaigns and elections and make it a crime to accept or spend money from any other source. Others take the opposite approach and allow candidates to receive unlimited contributions from virtually any source, including corporations, unions, and special interest groups.
