Historical Perspective: The most frequently mentioned presidential honeymoon occurred under Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and comparisons of Obama’s first 100 days with Roosevelt’s have been common. Yet historically, many of our most effective presidents have accomplished little during their honeymoon period. Others have accomplished a great deal in the beginning of their presidencies only to fade into obscurity down the road. The following links provide some perspective on the notion of the presidential honeymoon and particularly the accomplishments of the first 100 days.
