' ' ' ' I was introduced to Aplia several years ago when I saw a need for a sophisticated online tool for students to complete their homework assignments and to aid them in gaining more confidence in the skills being taught in class and in the textbook.

I am an Associate Professor in the Teaching and Learning Center at South Plains College in Lubbock, Texas and have taught Developmental Reading and College Success Strategies courses in traditional, hybrid and online formats. I've taught college courses for twelve years and each of the courses have included some type of web-based component. I earned my Masters degree from Texas Tech University and a certification in Adult Literacy from National Louis University in Chicago, IL. ' ' ' ' Throughout my years of service to South Plains College, I've had the opportunity to serve in various committees such as the Institutional Effectiveness Committee, Retention Committee, Advisement Management Team, and most recently the Assessment Committee. ' ' ' ' I also serve as a Master Texan Advisor where I earned an award in 2009 for being an Outstanding Student Advisor. ' ' ' '
