"Mindtap makes assessment and classroom administration a breeze--giving me more one-on-one time to spend with students."
Greg Underwood is Department Chair for Communications and Fine Arts at Pearl River Community College's Forrest County Center in Hattiesburg, MS. He has taught English classes for PRCC since 1997 in face-to-face, and later in hybrid and online modalities.
Greg was one of PRCC's first teachers to embrace technology when he started teaching online courses in 2002. He has seen the multiple changes in online education since then, and he enjoys seeing students learn more while enjoying it through courseware such as Mindtap and Aplia, which he uses for both content delivery and assessment. As a department chair, he has seen the results both in terms of student outcomes and in faculty satisfaction.
In 2013, he was named the Mississippi Humanities Council Teacher of the Year recipient for PRCC. He received his BS in accounting from Spring Hill College, his MA in English from the University of Memphis, and is currently completing his PhD dissertation in English at the University of Southern Mississippi.
