Denise earned her Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from The University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from Hood University. After working as an accountant for 10 years, Denise switched careers and became a college professor. Now, she is an Associate Professor of Management at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Over the past 17 years, Denise has taught Principles of Management, Human Resources Management, and Project Management courses in traditional, hybrid, and online formats. During this time, she watched distance learning evolve from a primarily asynchronous experience for students, into an engaging learning environment using various technology and software tools. She found that utilizing technology in her courses is the best way to engage students who have grown up using technology in almost every aspect of their lives.
