iLrn lets me put all language-learning materials in one place and easily track students' progress.
I currently teach the Spanish online program at Georgia Tech, using iLrn technology, voiceboards, videos, and a Facebook group virtual classroom to engage students in a unique language learning experience. iLrn lets me put all language-learning materials in one place and easily track students' progress. I enjoy learning about new technology, using it in my classes and presenting it to others.
I hold a Masters in Spanish from the University of Salamanca in Spain and a Doctor of Education with research concentration in study abroad and foreign language acquisition from Nova Southeastern University. I serve on the editorial board of the ALJ in Student Research, and my teaching style is featured in more than 30 original Spanish video lessons I created for the website Education Portal.
My extensive international travel experience includes serving as a student ambassador in Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland, living in Spain for several years, evaluating language institutes in Mexico, and conducting an ethnographical field study in Costa Rica. My research interests include study abroad, language acquisition, international students, and instructional technology.
