Author Bio

Jinglian Wu

Jinglian Wu is widely regarded as China’s most celebrated and influential economist. He has been at the center of economic reform in China and actively engaged in the study of comparative economic systems, theories and policies on China’s economic restructuring, and policy assessment of China’s economy. Wu graduated from the Department of Economics, Fudan University in 1954. He is currently Senior Research Fellow at the Development Research Center for the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Professor of Economics at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a PhD adviser at the School of Economics, Peking University, and the Bao Steel Chair Professor of Economics at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). His main research interests are theoretical economics, comparative institutional analysis, and theory and policy on the transformation of the Chinese society. He is Honorary President of International Economic Association (IEA) and winner of the China Economics Prize—Outstanding Contribution to China’s Economy Award in 2005.
