Over the years, many studies have attempted to determine what people want from their work. In one of them, a list of ten work-related items was given to one thousand employees and their one hundred immediate supervisors. The employees were asked to rank the items in order of importance to them.
Here's your opportunity to rank those same items according to want you want in a job after graduation.
- Review the list of items below and pick the one most important to you.
- Type the number "1" in the box to the left of the item to indicate its top rank.
- Continue to rank the remaining items, typing the number "2" in the box to the left of the second most important item, a "3" by the third and so on. The lowest ranked item should have a "10" to the left of it.
- After you've ranked all the items, print this page and bring it to class.
Your professor will provide the results of the survey, including how the employees' supervisors ranked these items based on what they thought their employees wanted.
