  • An Author Who Understands Course Needs: Concise but complete, HIST4 is written in a style that reaches students, by an author who teaches the survey course every year. In anticipation of this edition, the author -- an award-winning teacher -- served on several of his profession's book award committees, which has kept the narrative relevant, vibrant, balanced, and up-to-date.
  • Every 4LTR Press solution comes complete with an engaging print textbook, tear-out review cards, and an interactive digital solution that offers study tools and the full text narrative, all delivered and influenced by a deep understanding of students' workflow and learning styles. Available as print with online, print only, or online only, students have their choice of format -- all at the same affordable price. HIST4 is also available in split options: HIST, Comprehensive Fourth Edition (Chapters 1–29); Volume 1: Through 1877 (Chapters 1–16); and Volume 2: Since 1865 (Chapters 16–29).
  • Shorter, comprehensive chapters in a modern design present content in a more engaging and accessible format that increases the number of students who read the chapter without minimizing coverage for your course. Tear-Out Review Cards at the back of the Student Editions provide students a portable study tool containing all of the pertinent information for class and test preparation.
  • The end-of-chapter "Looking Ahead" summaries provide linkages from one chapter to the next, helping to keep students engaged in the material.
