Flexible Training Options . . . Choose the Option Right for You! At Thomson, we realize that your specific training needs are as individual as you are. That's why we've put together a wide array of training options to fit your needs. From self-serve on the web to personalized training on-site, our TLC program allows you to choose when, where, and how you want to be trained. Our program includes:
* Self-training videos.
* Online training seminars by instructors experienced in using Thomson technology. Learn from instructors already experienced in using Thomson products?not only how to use the technology but how to maximize its teaching power. These online web seminars are ideal for the busy professor. You can choose the time that works for you -- or listen to pre-recorded sessions whenever it is convenient. Each session is approximately an hour long (with time for questions) and is held via conference call and an online meeting program.
* Onsite personalized training for qualified adopters. Our in-person trainers range from technical experts who can work with you and your system administrators to Lead Teachers who can meet with you to share best practices in teaching with technology. Contact your Thomson representative to find out more.
* First day of class services. We know that technology integrates well with your other course materials only if both you and your students are comfortable using it. Our First Class In-Service Program helps you show your students how technology will help them get the results they want. At your request, a Thomson rep will come to your classroom and walk your students through the technology. Or, if you prefer, you can use a wide variety of pre-prepared First Class In-Service materials yourself by visiting http://academic.cengage.com/fcis
* TouchPoints Program. To ensure that you get off to a good start with technology and that you have what you need throughout the term, we developed the TLC TouchPoints Program. Our training specialists contact faculty who are using Thomson Technology at each crucial stage in the teaching process: before class starts to assist with set-up and registration, then early in the term to provide pointers on using assignment or presentation technologies, and at mid-term and final periods to ensure you are comfortable with grading and reporting functions. While the timing may vary depending on the particular technology you are using, rest assured that we will be touching bases with you to give you the support you need when you need it.
