Baltimore attorney Robert Goodloe Harper (1765-1825) was an influential Federalist and a member of the Maryland State Colonization Society, through which he led the movement to settle former slaves in Liberia.

Most of these papers pertain to Harper’s work and personal life, his wife (daughter of Charles Carroll of Carrollton), and their family.
