Author Bio

M.W. Bo

Bo Myint Win is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer in Bullen Consultants Ltd, United Kingdom. He obtained his B.Sc (Geology) from the University of Rangoon and received a Postgraduate Diploma in Hydrogeology from University College London and M.Sc. degree from the University of London. He obtained his Ph.D in Civil Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Dr. Bo is a Fellow of the Geological Society, London, Chartered Geologist and also a European Geologist. He has published over 60 papers in international conferences and journals. He has been working as consultant for several reclamation and soil improvement projects in Singapore and the Far East.

J. Chu

Dr. CHU Jian is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He has 19 years of research and consulting experiences in geotechnical engineering, particularly in the areas of laboratory and in-situ testing, engineering properties of soils, soil improvement and land reclamation. He has developed two vertical drain testers and has published over 70 papers in international journals or conferences.

B.K. Low

Dr. LOW Bak Kong is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. His research and teaching interest include slope stability, soil improvement and geotechnical reliability analysis. He has published papers on these topics in international journals and conferences.

V. Choa

Victor Choa is currently Professor and Dean of Admissions at the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. He obtained his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Cambridge, M.Sc. from the University of Birmingham and Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore. Professor Choa has been active in teaching, research and consulting in the field of geotechnical engineering in general and land reclamation and soil improvement in particular. He has been engaged as a consultant in many international civil engineering projects and has authored over 100 technical papers in geotechnical engineering.
