About

Overview

CONVERSACIÓN Y REPASO, Eleventh Edition, is part of a three-volume INTERMEDIATE SPANISH series that gives you a thorough review of grammatical structures and helps you communicate with confidence in Spanish. You'll quickly hone your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through a variety of engaging, culturally relevant activities and exercises for conversation.

Features and Benefits

  • The "Repaso" section in each unit allows students to review and reinforce the vocabulary and structures covered in order to improve their preparedness.
  • The unit-opening "En contexto" section relates thematically to the corresponding units in CIVILIZACIÓN Y CULTURA and LITERATURA Y ARTE. In this section, students build vocabulary by learning new words in a list ("Vocabulario activo") and by seeing them in context in a dialog recorded on the Text Audio Program.
  • The "Estructura" grammar section comprises the major portion of each unit and provides a solid foundation for communication.
  • The "A conversar" section in each chapter presents and practices strategies for developing effective conversational skills in Spanish.
  • The "Intercambios" section emphasizes the development of communicative skills by incorporating the vocabulary and grammar from each unit in interactive, real-life scenarios.
  • Unit 12 of all three books is designed to reflect the growing Hispanic population in the United States, as well as socioeconomic challenges they face.
  • The Premium Website and the Companion both offer students additional resources to support their learning, including flash-based grammar tutorials and downloadable audio and video.
