In the year 1847, a great famine is sweeping Ireland. The crops are dying from disease, and people everywhere are starving. For some families, there is no alternative, they must leave their homeland and migrate to new countries on the other side of the world. Others choose to stay and try to survive. More than one hundred and fifty years later, a visitor from Australia arrives in the small Irish village of Graystones. With only a faded clue from the past, she is searching for something. What she finds will surprise her – and the family she meets in the village.
