Charles Siegel
President, Academic & Professional Group

Charles Siegel is President of the newly established Academic & Professional Group for Cengage Learning. Previously, Mr. Siegel served as Senior Vice President of Operations Services for Thomson Learning (TL). In this role he led efforts to provide an infrastructure enabling TL to leverage its strengths by making the company more productive internally. Ultimately, this effort ensured that customers had an effective and successful experience doing business with TL.

Mr. Siegel has extensive experience in media and publishing and in all aspects of production, manufacturing and distribution operations as well as with acquisitions, divestitures, strategic alliances and restructurings. Prior to Thomson Learning, Mr. Siegel was at Primedia, Inc. where he held several executive positions including COO of the consumer magazine group, CEO of Newbridge Communications and EVP of operations for the education group.

Mr. Siegel started his career at Prentice Hall and worked at Simon & Schuster and Macmillan Publishing. He held operating roles as Chief Executive Officer of Brady Communications, President of the Simon & Schuster technical reference group and President of the Maxwell Macmillan international group.

Mr. Siegel has a bachelor's degree from Pace University and studied at the Baruch School of CUNY.
